| Nov 9 2007 |  For the second year running, we are taking part in the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society Spring Flower Show. A volunteer visited today to help the children to plant the bulbs. We have to look after them for the winter and see what comes up in the spring. |

| Nov 5 2007 |  We are focusing on road safety in nursery this week. Roads and traffic were talked about in the classes. The children had an info pack and stickers to take home. The children have also been practising waiting well at our zebra crossing and traffic lights in our corridor. Our Community police Officer also visited the following week. |

| Oct 25 2007 |  In October and November, the children are have been enjoying autumnal visits to the Botanic Gardens, the Hermitage of Braid and Harlaw Education Centre. They have looked at the changing seasons and local biodiversity. These trips were partly funded by our Eco Schools grant. |

| Aug 24 2007 |  The children had a fun outing to start the term off. Some went along to Prices Street Gardens and others also took in the sights and sounds of the Fringe on the Royal Mile. They particularly enjoyed watching the street performers. |

Miss Liddle celebrates 40 years at Westfield Court Nursery School There was a surprise in store for Miss Liddle at Family Singing when the nursery community celebrated her 40 years of service as a nursery nurse at Westfield Court. Ms Liddle was presented with flowers and gifts from the children, parents and colleagues (past & present) in recognition of her wonderful contributon to the nursery. |
| Nov 13 2006 |  A volunteer form the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society visited today to help the children each plant a pot of bulbs. The best pots will be displayed at their Spring Flower Show in the Botanic Gardens in March. |

We held our 'Fruit Olympics' today, an event supported by the PIP Project. They supplied plastic fruit for the children to use in games out in the playground. They also provided a bag of 5 fruits for each of the children to take home. |
