Welcome to Westfield Court Nursery School

The school is housed on the eighth and top floor of a block of flats and is reached by means of a dedicated lift which comes directly to the nursery.  A rooftop playground leads from one of the classrooms.

The school opened in 1953 to serve the local community and generations of families have attended the nursery.  Westfield Court is situated in the Gorgie area and is part of the Tynecastle cluster. CLICK HERE TO VIEW MAP

The accommodation provides three classrooms,  a rooftop playground, a library, a therapy room, soft play area  and Family Room . To encourage children to learn about plant growth, several balcony garden areas have been developed with funding from Grounds for Awareness and looked after by the nursery team, helped by the children.  There is a kitchen which serves school lunches.

The school has strong links with the local community and is able to utilise local resources such as Gorgie War Memorial Hall garden,  Gorgie Farm and the excellent facilities at Saughton Park.  When funding is available, nursery children use Dancebase and attend other theatrical & musical events.
