Payments

Children receive a daily snack which is paid for weekly at a charge of £1.
We follow a healthy eating policy with an occasional treat for special times e.g. birthdays.

Our kitchen serves School lunches which follow the City of Edinburgh Council's "Healthy Eating" programme. You can view our current Lunch Menu by clicking on the document at the foot of this page. Lunch is currently priced at £1.65 a day. You can also look at the weekly/monthly/term amounts due by clicking on the Lunch Costs document at the foot of this page.

We have a voluntary toy fund, which is used to cover the cost of extras for the children - cooking ingredients, local outings, photographs, special books and much more. Each classroom has its own 'piggy bank' and voluntary contributions of up to £1 a week are appreciated. Back to top
Outings and Visits

Outings are arranged to support and develop interests within the classroom. We also organise special visits to the nursery. Recent visits have included Jo Jingles music sessions where the children enjoyed singing new songs, and Zoolab, where they had the opportunity to learn about and hold different animals. Back to top
Parental Involvement

We see nursery education as a partnership and welcome the involvement of parents and families within the school. Parents and carers are invited to join with the children in monthly family singing sessions. It is a fun time and gives families an opportunity to share and learn new songs with their children. There is also the opportunity to join our Parents Group. Back to top
Curriculum

The Scottish Executive Curriculum Framework for Children aged 3 - 5 years and The Child at the Centre forms the basis for the broad educational experiences planned for the children. Please follow the link at the foot of the page for a more detailed look at the curriculum.

Further information on any of these matters can be obtained by contacting the school. Back to top
School Policies
A list of school policies is available in our Documents section. All these can be viewed in nursery and some are also available in Documents.
